Students at St Thomas Aquinas are provided with opportunities to engage in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Investigations which promote innovative, critical and creative thinking to solve problems. These investigations are often linked to key Inquiry understandings and challenge our students to think beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to identify problems, design solutions and create prototypes, justifying how their design thinking best meets the needs of the problem and target audience.
To enhance these experience for our students, at St Thomas’ there is dedicated Makerspace comprising of equipment with which students have opportunities to learn new skills, including complex robotics, construction techniques and 3D printing. St Thomas’ prides itself in ensuring students have exposure to the latest technologies, preparing students to be active digital citizens in their future.
